With the “Namibia Fly In”, Ondili offers travellers to Africa the opportunity to take in as many highlights of the Namibian countryside and regions as possible within 13 days. Our guests travel from lodge to lodge in small aircraft shuttles and take part in a well-planned programme of exciting activities.
After your arrival in Namibia the first thing you will enjoy is your stay at our Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge. In the middle of the red Kalahari Desert, this is the first place you’ll get to and will give you a first impression of the beauty of African landscapes. Here, you have the option of getting your first sightings of wild animals at the nearby waterhole, relaxing at the pool or going for a short walk.
The following day, the travellers set off on a hike through the Kalahari with an experienced guide. Here the red dunes, so characteristic of this region, alternate with tree savannah. On the way you’ll be able to see wild animals like wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, nyala and impala.
The second stop in Namibia takes our guests to the south of the country to the Fish River Lodge on the edge of the Fish River Canyon – one of the largest canyons in the world. Explore the natural beauty of this ancient geological wonder with its hot mineral springs of Ai-Ais and numerous viewpoints along the rim of the canyon.
After your stay at the Fish River Lodge, you’ll travel on to the Desert Homestead Outpost by charter flight. This accommodation is situated in the middle of a 7,000-hectare private nature reserve, adjacent to the “Namib Sand Sea” UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. The excursions lead from here to the much-travelled Sossusvlei.
On the seventh and eighth day we continue on to Hohenstein Lodge in the Erongo Mountains.
This vast wilderness impresses visitors with its spectacular landscapes and fascinating variety of animal species – including rhinos, elephants, wild cats, giraffes and wildebeests. Here a range of adventurous activities, including hiking, climbing, horse riding and mountain biking, await our guests.
On the ninth day the “Namibia Fly In” trip takes you to Shipwreck Lodge on the Skeleton Coast. Here, thousands of kilometres of sandy desert meet the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean, where the sea fog and countless shipwrecks have created a melancholy atmosphere of fascinating beauty on the beaches.
Our travellers spend the following two nights at the Etosha Oberland Lodge on the border of the Etosha National Park. The park attracts visitors from all over the world with its more than 100 different species of mammals, just as many species of reptiles and around 340 species of birds and so provides the perfect opportunity to bring your trip to a successful conclusion.
A final charter flight will then take you back to Windhoek on day 13, from where you will start your journey home.
