Etosha Oberland Lodge, 10 km southeast of Anderson Gate, is located in a 5000 ha private game reserve which shares a 10 km border with famous Etosha National Park. The lodge’s hallmarks are luxury and plenty of privacy. This remarkable place is superbly suited for safari excursions into Etosha. 

The main building is surrounded by large, ancient mopane trees in a wild, but park-like setting. The reception area is reached via a curved wooden walkway that leads through tall grass (tall after the rainy season) and around gnarled trees. Upon entering the lobby with the bar and spacious seating areas, the eye is drawn through the open building to the vast savannah, where often enough the first animals can be spotted right then. The large infinity pool also offers fantastic views of the open plain in front of the lodge and the two waterholes. As the sun slowly drops over the horizon, it is wonderful to sit back in one of our small private seating islands and watch the spectacle of changing colours. The best spot to enjoy the sunset with a drink of your choice. After that we will treat you to a delicious 5-course dinner in our restaurant. On windy nights there is plenty of room inside, but we usually serve evening meals on the outside deck overlooking the well-frequented waterhole, with the exciting sounds of nocturnal nature as background accompaniment. Such a memorable atmosphere… 

After dinner, the evening can be wrapped up with a glass of red wine around the cosy campfire in our lounge. 

Our spacious chalets have been integrated into nature with loving care. They are placed so far apart and aligned so cleverly, that there is no sign of a neighbour. As a result, the rooms offer a high degree of privacy and unobstructed views of the savannah. Just grab a good book and relax on your chalet’s terrace while birds are chirping and zebras are braying in the distance. The perfect spot to admire your special surroundings in the shade of the mopane trees. For the brave, an outdoor shower is hidden in a tree. The ingredients for a relaxed sojourn are 75 m² of living space, tasteful natural furnishings and colours, air conditioning and Wi-Fi in the room, minibar, tea and coffee station, and above all the incredible view. Great attention to detail rounds off the experience. The fact that everything is 100% solar-powered is actually a matter of course for Ondili Lodges and it makes you feel better while you are relaxing. Still, we just wanted to mention it again.
