The “Ondili North Tour” takes our guests through the north of Namibia. During this fourteen-day tour, you will explore eight different destinations and spend thirteen nights in luxurious lodges amidst the pristine landscapes of Africa.
After your arrival at the international airport in Windhoek, we will welcome you first at Auas Safari Lodge. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the capital, this is the perfect place to arrive and really settle in. Why not enjoy a sundowner on the veranda with a view of one of the fascinating sunsets in the Auas Mountains and observe wildlife at the watering hole situated just a few metres away.
On day two, you will travel on to Swakopmund. Colonial architecture and expansive avenues characterise this city on the Skeleton Coast. It’s a place of contradictions – a culture somewhere between German and Namibian, intertwined with urban life that sits between the Atlantic coast and the African desert.
After this entertaining city tour, the Ondili North Tour takes you on day three into a two-day adventure across the Erongo Mountains. This region is considered to be one of the most wildly romantic places in Namibia – with its spectacular rock landscapes and a fascinating variety of animal species. During your stay here, you will spend the night at Hohenstein Lodge at the foot of the highest mountain in the Erongo massif. Experience the picturesque panoramic views this area has to offer and explore the mountains during extended hikes or mountain bike tours.
On the fifth and sixth day of your journey, let us take you to the Kunene region in north-west Namibia where you can experience the spirit of adventure in the midst of spectacular scenery. Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp lies between the slopes of the sandstone Great Table Mountain. This is the site of one of the largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa, and travellers are afforded deep insights into the country’s rich culture.
Afterwards, we continue to Grootberg Lodge in Damaraland. The rugged beauty of this vast desert landscape invites you to go on wildlife safaris, following in the footsteps of the desert elephants and soaking up the extensive exploratory tours in the Brandberg Massif.
During the further course of the tour, your route takes you to Hobatere Lodge in the western part of the Etosha National Park. This world-famous animal reserve is home to more than 100 different mammals, as well as many reptile species and roughly 340 species of bird.
Thus, this place offers optimal conditions for exciting safaris and intimate insights into the life of African fauna.
And even if you only spend two days here, you can continue to explore during the following two days. This is because your next destination is the Etosha Oberland Lodge, which is situated south of Etosha National Park and, therefore, is still in the immediate vicinity of this species-rich area.
The 22,000-hectare Okonjima nature reserve is located halfway between the spectacular Etosha National Park and the capital Windhoek. Our guests will stay here for two nights in the Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp where they will have the opportunity to go on further game drives or guided bush walks and, in particular, to discover more about the wild cats of Africa. The AfriCat Foundation, which is committed to the protection of cheetahs and leopards, is active in this area. Visitors can gain an insight into the work of this organisation and learn exciting information about the coexistence of animals and humans in Namibia.
These fascinating experiences round off the Ondili North Tour. On day 14, our guests will be brought back to Windhoek, from where they can begin their journey home.
