The “Active 14” tour from Ondili offers a fortnightly programme full of exciting activities in the unspoilt countryside of Namibia.
The tour starts in the Kalahari Desert with our Trans Kalahari Walk – a hike through the red savannah with an overnight stay in a tent camp surrounded by nature.
It continues on the third day in the Sossusvlei region between the rugged Naukluft Mountains and the majestic dunes of the Namib Sand Sea.
Our guests then travel on to the Desert Homestead Outpost. This accommodation is located in the middle of a 7,000-hectare nature reserve. In the bordering vast plains, you can often see cheetahs roaming the endless plains of the savannah.
Guided hikes through this area lead travellers through the impressive landscapes of a living desert. Active holidaymakers and experienced hikers as well as those guests looking for relaxation and peace and quiet will all find that they will can their money’s worth here.
On the sixth and seventh day, the Namibia trip leads to the coastal town of Swakopmund. This is where the German and Namibian cultures meet. Sea air, wide avenues, colonial architecture and the immediate vicinity of the desert region make this city in the Skeleton Coast region a special experience.
After this entertaining city trip, the “Active 14” programme takes you back to nature on the eighth and ninth day. Guests can expect a two-day adventure in the Erongo Mountains, from the comfortable lodge to a romantic night in the wilderness.
And now you’re in the mood for adventure, the trip continues on the tenth and eleventh day at the Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp. The Twylfelfontein is located in the Kunene region in the northwest of Namibia and is a spectacularly scenic area. Lined by the slopes of a sandstone table mountain, you’ll find one of the largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa here. The name “Twyfelfontein” means “fountain of doubt”, which refers to the perennial water source in the impressive Huab Valley.
After your stay in this culturally significant area of Namibia, your safari continues on days 12 and 13 at the northernmost point of your journey at Etosha Oberland Lodge. In a private nature reserve on the border of the animal-rich Etosha National Park, visitors can observe a variety of animal species, including lions, giraffes, elephants and rhinos.
Afterwards our guests arrive back in Namibia’s capital Windhoek on day 14 and enjoy a city tour around the historic buildings and monuments of this cosmopolitan place.
And after a last overnight stay in the quiet surroundings of the Ti Melen Bed & Breakfast, travellers can finally set off on their journey home after fourteen action-packed days full of experiences.
